Crossing the Border into Cambodia: Battambang

Crossing through no-man's land between Thailand and Cambodia.
Currently in Sihanoukville, about to ferry to Koh Rung for a few days. But back to the photos as we entered Cambodia and visited Battambang Feb 19-20.
The roads here are in terrible shape, many washed out, others being worked on.  Big clouds of red dust.

Haney is fascinated with these 2-stroke engines - used on plows, tractors, boats, irrigation pumps, and here on a sort of pick-up truck.

French colonial architecture in Battambang.
A parking lot at a university.  There are also hundreds of motorbikes parked outside of markets.
This guy will ferry you across the river if you don't want to walk down to the next bridge.

Discovering a lot of new fruits here, including the huge, spiky durians.

Our favorite end-of-day spot in Battambang - an old teak building with a back balcony, high on stilts, over the river.
