River Trip from Battambang to Siem Reap

One of the best parts of our trip so far was actually a transit day...
`Boarding the boat.

We saw a lot of colorful, occupied houseboats.

Our boat driver throwing water on the windshield to improve visibility (from river splash droplets).

This houseboat has poles on the side of its rounded roof so that you can place things on top.

Fishing.

A bicycle ferry.

Houseboat residents seemed to be camping on the river bank for dry season under makeshift plastic tents.  Blue pipe is for irrigating the fields above with the river water.

We pass the daily boat traveling in the other direction.

Fishing contraptions - you lower the tent-like thing in the water and when you raise it, its huge net brings up fish, which conveniently fall into a can at the bottom.

Adorable passenger on our boat, being dropped off at his village.

At one of the many floating villages we passed through, a woman rows out to pick up a package our boat is delivering.
